However, there are thousands of species of mushrooms in nature and many of them can cause harm to the human body. For example, there are more than 10,000 species of mushrooms in North America alone. If taken as food, 20 percent of them can make people sick. And one percent can kill people instantly.

Among the different varieties of mushrooms, 8-10 varieties are cultivated in Bangladesh. But there are many varieties of mushrooms found in Bangladesh, especially wild mushrooms, which can often prove to be toxic and harmful to the body.

Besides lentils and mugdals, khesari pulses are also on the food list of many people in Bangladesh. However, experts say that these pulses may contain a type of alanine amino acid called BOAA, which produces toxic neurotoxins. This acid can cause 'neuro-laterism' or neurological paralysis.

The symptoms of this disease often appear suddenly. This can lead to difficulty walking and unbearable pain or numbness in the legs. In this regard, nutritionist Ayesha Siddique said, this disease can be caused by eating khesari pulses for a long time.

Potato

 

When roots are born in potatoes, a substance called glycoalkaloids is formed there. In particular, this type of material is born if the potato is left for a long time. Many times the leaves or stems of the tree also contain this element. In particular, the red sediment that is formed when the roots grow on the potato contains more of this material.

Shamsunnahar Nahid, chief nutritionist at Bardem Hospital, said that if these glycoalkaloids enter the body, it can lead to death. It can also cause diarrhea, headaches, and even coma.

It is said that if one consumes three to six milligrams of this glycoalkaloid in any way, one can die. In addition, a kind of green substance is often seen in potatoes. It is a substance called carcinogenic, which can cause cancer. This type of potato should not be eaten.

Tomato

Tomato leaves and stems contain alkali, which can be harmful to the stomach. Raw tomatoes are thought to contain this ingredient.

Nutritionist Shamsunnahar Nahid says that for this reason, raw tomatoes should not be eaten without good cooking. Because, anyone who eats too much raw tomato can get seriously ill.

Even - "There have been deaths of people eating raw tomatoes." Therefore, the leaves of the tomato tree should not be eaten in any way, he said.

Cashew nuts

There are two varieties of cashew nuts - one sweet and the other bitter. Although it is a nutritious food, experts say that bitter almonds contain a toxic substance called cyanogenic glycosides, which can be harmful to the body. Because it can produce hydrogen cyanide in the body.

Bitter almonds should not be eaten raw. Each bitter almond is said to contain six milligrams of hydrogen cyanide. If 100 mg of hydrogen cyanide enters someone's body, it may be enough to kill him.

Apple

Not really apples, apple seeds contain a small amount of cyanide. As a result, if a large amount of apple beech or beech extract enters someone's body, it can make cyanide to kill him. And cyanide is a deadly kind of poison.

As a result, they get itchy and swollen throat when they eat kachu. This is because kachu contains a lot of oxalate. Many times this can lead to death.

If you want to eat kachu, you have to eat lemon with it. He said that it works in coordination with Kachu oxalate.

Egg


Eating eggs is good for health - but eating raw eggs, eating half-boiled eggs, or scratching one side of an egg can be harmful to health.

This is especially harmful for pregnant mothers, she says.

Canned or processed food
Due to the busy schedule, many people now prefer to eat canned or processed foods, as these are easily prepared and can be eaten.

However, nutritionist Ayesha Siddique told BBC Bangla that if such canned food is not of good quality or there is a defect in the preparation process, it can cause problems like diarrhea, cancer etc.

In addition, sulfur is often used in foods such as dried fish, dried fruits, etc., which can be harmful to health if ingested.
